All around the World, Rotary works to provide the leaders of tomorrow with opportunities to develop today. Through generous support and a vision of peace and international understanding, young lives are being changed forever - and with them, so changes our World for the better.
Third Plenary Session:
Sunday 11th March 2012, commencing 8:30am
The Family of Rotary: Celebrating Our New Generations
As a Rotarian, when those we know ask about Rotary and why we choose to lend our time to serving the community, it can sometimes be difficult to completely convey just what it means to be a part of Rotary. But nothing provides a better example than seeing Rotary in action. And there is no better example of Rotary in action than the showcase of Rotary on offer at the 2012 Melbourne Rotary District 9800 Conference.
The 2012 Yellow Ticket is purchasable to admit non-Rotarians to our Third Plenary session at the 2012 Conference, including presentations by young participants in Rotary programs to promote youth leadership, personal development, vocational development, cultural exchange and peace scholarship. The session will also feature keynote addresses by Generation Y expert Michael McQueen, Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Roland Dillon and Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School Principal, Heather Schnagl as well as a special presentation by Rotary’s Vocational Training Team after returning from Timor Leste where they trained nursing and medical staff to reduce some of the world’s worst maternal and neonatal mortality rates.
With entertainment from the Jazz Singers from Princes Hill Secondary College with Conductor Miriam Crellin as well as the Victoria University Big Band, the Third Plenary Session will be a celebration of Rotary’s efforts to create a brighter future at home and abroad and will also include a fully catered morning tea.
Whether a colleague, friend or family member of a Rotarian, or just an intrigued member of the public, this a chance to see what Rotary is all about – inspiring speakers, the fellowship of people who want to give back to their community and the opportunity to hear how it’s possible to put good intentions into action.
